A Message From Jennaro Pullano

While Jennaro and I disagree on some issues, one thing we agree on is civility in politics.  As most of you saw on the last topic Wyomissing’s Own Reading Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon’s minions resorted to taking a cheep shot at Jennaro regarding his back taxes just like they were making fun of Keith Stamm involving his accident.  Jennaro posted a response to that topic, and I felt it was necessary to put his response in a topic of it’s own.

Jennaro should be applauded for getting involved in our capitalist system by having his own business, but like we have seen with The Established Elite so many times before, rather then promote real economic activity and entrepreneurship, they would rather chase it out of town.  I can relate to Jennaro’s issues.  I know what it is like to have bad years, and to barley make ends meat.  Greatness is discovered not in moments of joy, but in moments of despair, and it’s those kind of qualities that bring out the best in all of us.  Jennaro I commend you for your honesty and integrity, and I wish you the best of luck.

Now here is Jennaro’s response.

I hate politics, rather than debating issues on how to make Reading a better place. We have people who like to through mud around that has nothing to do about how to make Reading better.

If anyone has any questions about my business please call me at 610-374-2897.

I will debate and discuss issues about how to make The City of Reading a better place anytime any place. This election is already getting ugly lots of name calling and such. Donna Reed got in the face of my mom and campaign volunteers the other day. She was out of control yelling at people.

There is no need for this in politics. There are solution for the problems facing Reading. I hope I am lucky enough to be the next mayor so we can get to work.

Trying to give city government back to the people.

    Mr Pullano,

This post is not meant to be an attack on you, just some points to ponder, and an insight into how this voter thinks…

I understand your side Mr. Pullano, but how can you expect these things to not surface? A big part of the problem in government, especially in a city such as Reading, is the attitude that the laws are to be applied only to the peasants, while the royalty is living high above it all.

Your tax issues will cause people to believe that you also share the view that you are above the laws of the common folk. This is exactly why opponents will publish the information, your past actions are doing their campaigning for them.

I have to admit, I clicked on the link and scrolled through the papers. It is a very large sum of money, I was shocked. If I as a voter have doubts that you pay your fair share and follow the laws why would I vote for you? This city is in sad shape and I don’t want to have to pick the lesser of two evils when casting my vote.

One of the issues this city faces is money, the lack of money. This city needs to be run as a business; a business whose existance depends on turning a profit. There are too many taking out of the pot and not enough contributing to it. If your business can’t cover its own expenses under your control how would you expect voters to hand over the city to you?

I too hate politics, as do many others, it is exactly this kind of behavior that keeps many good people out of the ring. But you have chosen to throw in your hat, and while there are many corrupt areas of campaigning you have to expect what will come. Right or wrong, that’s the way it is. You can only change it from the inside. You have two choices… to ignore the bad press and leave us to draw our own conclusions, or face it head on and tell your side. People are a lot more understanding than you think, but avoidance and secrecy sends up a red flag.

    Good luck with the campaign.

  2. Fed Up With The Status Quo says:

You are way off the mark Lori… no offense.

There simply is no shortage of money to give to rich people, like Sovereign Bank or Al Boscov, so they don’t have to use their own money to build at 5th and Penn or the Goggleworks Apts and IMAX theater.

This money is supposed to go to the people, to fix the roads, the parks, you know PUBLIC PLACES, NOT PRIVATE BUSINESSES. That is corporate welfare!

McMahon is just a cheap whore, who is selling us out.

Pullano offers a chance to change all that, to return our tax dollars going only to public uses, rather than giving our tax dollars to the millionaires so they don’t have to use their own funds or borrow money on the open market. That message totally trumps the silly notion of paying your taxes LATE, AND WITH PENALTIES AND INTEREST. It would be a different matter if the government wasn’t ever going to get it’s due tax money, but that is not the case.

As for the morons, they will always have stupid notions!

  3. Taxpayer says:

Mr. Pullano not only hates politics he apparantly hates to pay his taxes as well. Is that lame, vague statement supposed to be a response to the accusation that your’e a tax deadbeat?

EDITOR’S NOTE: THIS IP ADDRES HAS BEEN LINKED TO TOM MCMAHON IN THE PAST.

  4. McMahon Eats Shit For Breakfast says:

McMahon hates tax dead beats, since it lessens the amount he can steal and give to his rich buddies, like that big time tax pimp, Al Boscov.

  5. Anonymous says:

    Hey,

When you can’t run on the issues or your record, then you attack the other guys!

McMahon is a PIECE OF SHIT, plain and simple.

  6. Matt Heckman says:

Lori I have to disagree with you on this one. Government should never be making a profit off of the citizenry. If there are surpluses then the taxpayer deserves a refund.

Government should never be run like a business. It’s to provide a limited role in essential services like Police, Fire, and upkeep of our infrastructure, not to be giving money for art galleries or movie complexes to enhance the ego of Al Boscov.

If the city did indeed use taxpayer resources for the roles the charter intended for it to do, we would never have any crime at that high level that we have it. Reading School District would not be flooded with Illegal Aliens, and in the process the private sector would invest their own money and we would have free market competition in Reading rather then the Al Boscov, Jay Shitdo monopoly we currently have.

Tom McMahon kisses butt with Fast Eddie, but it was Fast Eddie’s boys in SEPTA that ensured the defeat of the metro rail project. Just one example of where Tom McMahon priorities lie.

  7. Taxpayer says:

Sorry there Chief, I’m not Tom McMahon, although he is a good man to want to emulate and well be reelected handily. I asked a simple question, if theres a simple answer, so be it.. Pullano is a decent enough guy and I’m sure he means well but what is up with the tax leins? Don’t you think thats a fair question to ask of somone running for Mayor? Youv’e twisted this so many ways I’m losing track,”his business is seasonal so he couldn’t pay them”? Hahahaha That is really stupid.. I’m not a CPA but I know that if you owe a certain amount then you most assuredly must have earned a certain amount. So why didn’t he pay them?

  8. Lori Martin says:

Point taken Matt. Perhaps I stated my opinion incorrectly. I certainly don’t mean the city should turn a profit to fund crap like the Boscov housing deals. I only meant that a city has to be run properly, so that we aren’t always coming up short. As in illegals in our schools… we pay for their education, healthcare, lunch, breakfast and so on and yet they pay nothing in taxes.

If I needed to put a new roof on my house I wouldn’t want to be charged for two roofs, mine and someone else’s, nor would a roofer stay in business if this was what he were doing. That’s what I mean about running a city as if it were a business.

Profits would go to improving things rather than just maintaining. If we stopped being the capitol for wayward criminals and welfare queens we could have nice things such as more modern playgrounds, rec centers, community events and so on. This would be giving back to the taxpayers.

  9. McMahon Eats Shit For Breakfast says:

    Don’t you think thats a fair question…

** Then call him and ask him! He posted a phone number, you retarded uncle fucker.

  10. Think About It says:

I looked into this and Mr. Pullano has made good on his tax issues. Sure there is a record that shows he failed to pay ON TIME, but so what?

He paid his taxes late… with interest and penalties, we got more money out of Mr. Pullano then if he paid the taxes on time.

    So what is the problem?

When is Tom McMahon going to pay the City of Reading back for all the money he borrowed to start his company, Entech Engineering?

There are 18 persons who took money from the city in loans in the 1970’s and 1980’s, the City Council has been trying to get this mayor to go after them, but that will never happen since Mayor McMahon IS ONE OF THOSE PERSONS, and the other 17 would scream bloody murder if they had to pay their loans back and Tom McMahon didn’t.

If the idiot want to still defend McMahon, spare us the “Tom McMahon doesn’t own Entech Engineering anymore” bullshit, because Tom gave [or sold] the company to his brother.

That’s a fact, Jack. McMahon’s a crook, but you want to disparage the young businessman, Pullano, who never stole a dime from the taxpayers!

  11. Winter Soldier says:

“When is Tom McMahon going to pay the City of Reading back for all the money he borrowed to start his company, Entech Engineering?”

This issue was investigated when he first ran, and it was proven to have no truth to it.

  12. Taxpayer says:

Mr. Think About It seems to be factually challenged, or just a flat out liar….. I hope you “looked into” whether Pullano paid his back taxes better than you did your absurd accusation against our Mayor. This whole thing started when his desperate opposition distributed a flyer in the middle of the night making this claim a few days before the primary in 2003. It wasn’t true then and it sure as hell isn’t true now. I merely asked a question, I’m not accusing Pullano of anything. It seems everyone is answering the question but him, if he paid them then thats fine, if not he owes the voters an explanation.

  13. just the facts says:

“This issue was investigated when he first ran, and it was proven to have no truth to it.”

    Who investigated it?

There was no formal investigation. Also, the City Council has raised the question of going after all 18 of the individuals who haven’t paid back their loans several times, but Mayor McMahon REFUSES to do so.

So why is that, McMahon apologists?

I agree with Think About It. McMahon can’t go after the other 17 persons without going after HIMSELF.

    That isn’t going to happen!

  14. Head of Lettuce says:

Please show where Pullano has paid his taxes (think about it). Veeg was good enough to back up his words with proof. Please SHOW US THE MONEY!

  15. Anonymous says:

“It seems everyone is answering the question but him…”

    Clearly a lie!

    From Jennaro above:

“If anyone has any questions about my business please call me at 610-374-2897″

Clearly, Mr. Pullano is quite eager to explain his side of the story, but liars working for the McMahon Administration will never be truthful.

  16. Taxpayer says:

Q: Sir, did you rob the bank last Saturday ?

A: If you have any questions about my weekends call me at 610-123-4567 because I’m “eager to explain” how I spent my time……

  17. Think About It says:

“Please show where Pullano has paid his taxes (think about it). Veeg was good enough to back up his words with proof. Please SHOW US THE MONEY!”

Excuse me, but VEEG hasn’t proven anything other then at some point in history, Mr. Pullano hadn’t paid his taxes on time. Those records cited do not get expunged upon paying back your taxes, idiot, nor do they change to reflect payment status.

So by what VIABLE means do you suggest proof be offered?

  18. Taxpayer says:

If you look again you will see he didn’t pay his taxes at several “points in history”.

  19. Taxpayer says:

Its funny I just saw your posts on the Berks Democrat web site using the name “Reading Resident” Its almost verbatim particularly the bald faced lie about our Mayor “stealing money from the city through his old firm Entec Engineering” and how you “checked with the IRS” about Pullano… What a dick… Again, I think Pullano is a good guy who truly loves our city and means well but has been fiscally irresponsible and needs to come clean. You don’t owe taxes unless your’e making money there sport. Now get a grip on yourself because Tom is going to be around for 4 more years.. At least, there aren’t term limits for Mayor in Reading, Pa.

  20. What The F%#k says:

Tom is an old fart who can drop dead at any point…

    4 more years?

    Maybe not!

  21. Andy says:

“Now get a grip on yourself…”

    Says the Master-Baiter!

    lol

  22. Matt Heckman says:

Good one Andy. Take notice that since Tom McMahon’s retarded school children are getting outed with their comments they have shut up? The like it when Sperm Walentis does it, but God forbid if I do it to Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon and his boys.
