Farmland in Oley To Be Put On The Market

It has just been brought to my attention that the farmland around The Oley Turnpike Dairy will be going on the market within the next couple of weeks.  As some of you know, Oley Turnpike Dairy was recently sold which included the Ice Cream Place, and the petting zoo.  From what I understand, Greth Homes has interest in buying the surrounding land, and M.B. Investments was another one floating around as well along with Toll Brothers.  Some early proposals include residential housing, and an amusement center similar to Family Grand Prix on Route 61.

Now I’m all for economic growth and development as long as it is done responsible which would include taking into account  possible bottlenecks along Route 73, and Route 662, and Route 562.  If these things are not taken into account, we will see congestion that makes Route 222 North look like a breeze.

Stay tuned as more information develops.

Hershey Plant To Close In Reading Good News For Tom McMahon

In a victory for Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon and his tax pimping sidekick Al Boscov, Hershey is closing the reading plant putting 240 people in the unemployment line.  I’m sure Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon, and his tax pimping sidekick Al Boscov can’t wait to use that piece of real estate as The Goggle Works 69.

Bottom line this is what happens when you neglect your community like Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon does.  Honest companies are sick of seeing their taxpayer money go to Al Boscov and his ilk in stupid projects like The Goggle Works, and other moronic projects that don’t provide private sector jobs.  Oh yes how we hear how wonderful hiring people outside the city are in the name of experience that we have to flush the residency rule down the shitter.  If these guys are so perfect, then why are 240 jobs going away?

Better yet as Mike Case pointed out in his piece on his site regarding Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon having to resort to putting campaign signs on vacant buildings, because regular citizens think he’s a piece of trash.  That plant has plenty of space for Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon’s propaganda to be spread along the massive brick walls.  You can check Mike’s piece here.

Now it’s your turn to have your say.

Stefan Kosikowski Lays The Smackdown On Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon

I just got an interesting post from Andy one of our regular readers, and from what I understand Stefan had Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon shaking in his boots last night.  Stefan did the job The Reading Eagle refuses to do, and that’s call Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon on his actions.  Lets break down some of the highlights.

Residency Rule:  I agree with Stefan 100% on this.  It’s only human nature that a person won’t have the passion and drive within them to care for something they don’t own or live in.  The next statement I will make to all you anti-residency rule people out there will just bury this once and for all.  This is like when I try to get my oldest boy to eat something that he does not like, but yet I won’t eat it myself.  Naturally I never feed my kids anything that I’m not willing to eat myself.  Hell I even ate baby food once to gain their trust to eat it.  The most important thing in public service is gaining the trust of the taxpayer.  You don’t gain any trust with the taxpayer if you tell them what they need to do, but yet you exempt yourself from what you preach.  That is why the residency rule is that important.  Is Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon willing to have cameras put up near his upscale home in Wyomissing?

Security Cameras In The City:  If Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon had a good education in American History, he would know that our freedoms in The Constitution Of The Untied States are the best weapon to fight crime.  Bottom line Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon you can not utilize oppression to preserve freedom.  Only freedom can preserve freedom.

There you have it folks.  I hope Stefan does check in with us to let us know of any additional developments, because I know we won’t get everything from The Reading Eagle.

The Reading Eagle & The Murder Of Jason Stief

Due to the amount of comments on the previous topic, I decided to make a topic relating to this subject.

For those readers that don’t know what I’m talking about, Jason Stief was a young man who was murdered in Reading, PA on October 14, 2004 after the local newspaper The Reading Eagle printed his name as being a witness to the murder of his best friend back on October 10, 2004. Since then The Reading Eagle claimed that they had every right to do what they did under the 1st amendment.

Some readers have suggested some interesting points, from charging The Reading Eagle with a crime since they are a corporation, and corporations are considered flesh and blood individuals under judicial persistent, to another poster suggesting reckless endangerment.

The main question is this. Does the 1st amendment grant the right of the media which in this case is The Reading Eagle to out the name of a witness to a murder in this case Jason Steif and not face any consequences or accept any responsibility?

My view on this is that the 1st amendment does not protect the media from the consequences of their actions. Freedom & Responsibility come hand in hand. The freedom of the press was never intended to be used against the citizenry in this manner. If a member of the media is speeding on a highway, should they get pulled over and cited, or should they be let go under the guise of the 1st amendment? It is my view that the columnist, and the editor of The Reading Eagle should be charged with reckless endangerment. It is also my view that Jason’s mother Tina Stief is entitled to civil restitution, and punitive damages from the columnist, the editor of The Reading Eagle, and The Reading Eagle Company.

Now it’s your turn to be the judge.
