With Cletus Rivera the thug that shot Reading Police Officer Scott Wertz being allowed to have a jury outside of Berks County, this trial is already ruled in favor of him becoming another symbol like Mumia Abu Jamal for a bunch of lazy bums and thugs to worship.
Now here is the part that regardless of where you come from will piss you off. Over the weekend some of these thugs from Jefferson Heights housing project are passing this petition door to door throughout Muhlenberg Township and Laureldale to rename Buchanan drive to Cletus Rivera Avenue. I saw the massive list on this petition that they plan on submitting to the township commissioners which have given their full support for this petition drive according to these people. This has me angry, no it has me FUCKING PISSED OFF!
If this is allowed to continue I promise you I will be the first prick to tear that sign down, spit on it, shit on it, and piss on it. From our military, to our police officers, I’m sick and tired of these gangster thugs, and politically correct pussies making the bravest among us who put their life on the line, because they believe they can make a difference become the evil bad guy. To those of you who signed that petition I hope you burn in hell you sons of bitches.

There is only one valid comparison between Cletus Rivera and Mumia Abu Jamal and that is that they killed a police officer.
The Mumia Abu Jamal case involves police corruption, a known cover up, and more, which clearly is a violation of the man’s constitutional rights.
Cletus Rivera never had his rights’ violated.
Also, the worse that can be said about the Reading Police concerning Cletus Rivera is that he ran around free for over nine months with outstanding warrants for his arrest while the Reading police decided they had more important things to do besides arrest him and get him off the streets.
Shame… that would have saved Officer Wertz’ life.

Matt Matt-
Hate to ask a fundamental question, but, did CR ever admit to this horrendous crime?
In the US, there is a presumption of innocence until proof of guilt (beyond a reasonable doubt) is established by a jury.
I have a lot of respect for 5-O, but you’re opening yourself up to libel unless CR has admitted to the crime (at this stage of the case).

What part of shooting a cop in font of Wertz’s partner don’t you understand. If you respected the cops would you not take them at their word?
Spare me the libel BS, because do you know how many people O.J. could use that standard to recoup his legal fees if that were the case, and we all know that he did it, and that our system of justice is decaying.

Why are modern Liberals so concerned for the rights of thugs and criminals and not for the law abiding citizen?
Rivera is a coward that without a gun would be your average pussy that could get his ass kicked by anybody.
Oh besides Clutus is the new Mumia, because I live in riverview park, and I got that petition, and do you know what I did to that mother fucker? That’s right bitch I took the clip board and beat the shit out of him, and even drew some blood to. Go to the Muhlenberg Police I don’t care. If the piece of shit went to the cops, they know where I live. Besides It is highly unlikely that any Muhlenberg Cop would have the balls to confront me, because it would be seen as them supporting a Cop Killer. It’s is god damn time we fucking fight back.
Another note Matt, I have a relo in the works as well. I will be moving to Erie, PA for my job come the end of 07. Maybe Dana Hoffman will give me a lock of her fire crotch before I leave
Fear not, because I will still rant my mofo power to all of you.

“Why are modern Liberals so concerned for the rights of thugs and criminals and not for the law abiding citizen?”
Actually, liberals throughout the centuries have been worried about every single person’s rights, because when you can abuse or deny one person’s rights, you set a precedence to continue such injustice against others. There is nothing MODERN about this.
We have a ‘due process’ clause in the U.S. Constitution, and everyone is entitled to that protection or no one is entitled to it. You do not get to pick and choose who’s rights you will arbitrarily deny!
I don’t understand why you would have a problem with this unless you are NOT a conservative, because TRUE conservatives do not attack people for defending the U.S. Constitution and what it stands for. This is way bigger than Cletus Rivera, who will get what he has coming to him without violating his Constitutional rights.

Oh, I almost forgot… I don’t find anything libelous in Matt’s remarks. An important part of libelous is that what one is saying is FALSE.
Rivera shot Wertz at point blank range right in front of his partner.
Open and shut case if there ever was one!

I concur Stefan,
Mumia Abu Jamal was an exact case like this, and it later got perverted by the Move Organization, Black Panthers, and other Anti-Frank Rizzo groupies in an attempt to discredit is administration. Remember Frank Rizzo’s Philadelphia was ridden with race riots galore back then. To his credit unlike other big city mayors at the time who were concerned about political correctness like Mayor Marvel-Less Tom McMahon, Frank Rizzo knew what had to be done. He served justice equally by the law, and did everything in his power to rid that criminal element.
Bottom Line is if it were not for Frank Rizzo, Philadelphia would be in far worse shape today.
I can also relate to Mofo’s anger about this. I would not blame every Liberal so to say. Do we have liberals out there that think this way? Yes, but I doubt Stefan is getting a hard on eager to give Cletus Rivera a hug. I would not deny anybody a fair trial. As for the atmosphere of the criminals having more rights, I blame the media for that most of all. The media props these criminals just to get a good story, and in the process some Liberals, and Conservatives end up caring about the criminal in fear of getting bad press. Frank Rizzo is a good example of what happens when you apply justice equally. It then becomes so mainstream and becomes a part of pop culture where countries like France hear half truths where Mumia Abu Jamal is a hero.
I have to give Mark Baldwin credit for handling the Cletus Rivera case like a professional. I would bet that Cletus Rivera’s defense team is behind the petition drive for naming a street after Rivera in an attempt to anger the community to the point where it would justify their case for an out of county jury which they have since gotten. If I were Baldwin I would look into all of these pro Cletus Rivera Minions to see if there is a trace that can be linked to Rivera’s defense team. If that is the case then Baldwin can nail their nuts to the wall.

To clarify while Rizzo left Office in 79 and Jamal’s actions happened in December 81, the black panthers, Move, and so on were attacking police officers in Philadelphia as revenge toward Rizzo’s policies.

The facts in this Rivera case are pretty damning. Wertz’s partner is an eye witness to the shooting. The case gets fishy when you consider that Rivera was shooting at someone in plain clothes that was chasing him late at night, after some sort of shootout he was involved in at the minimarket at 8th & Walnut. Did he know that this whitey on his tail was a cop? Maybe, maybe not. I predict that he will wind up getting convicted of a lesser crime than killing a cop. Hell, he may even make a good case for shooting in self defense. If he does get off on a technicality, he may want to relocate. The Reading cops will be all over every move he makes if he stays in town.
Too bad they didn’t go after him on those outstanding warrants long before this tragedy happened.
