Why the Residency Rule is Important to Reading

On a topic that The Reading Eagle, and Mayor Inner Child Tom McMahon are obsessed with covering up, I am determined to keep this issue alive despite being banned from The Reading Eagle Blogs for defending Michael Case, and for posting the Mayor Flip Flop McMahon topic. Mayor Inner Child did not expect this to happen so soon and even worse being so close to his reelection year. Stefan Kosikowski is continuing to keep their asses to the fire on this, and I commend Stefan for sticking to his beliefs despite party lines.

Now I want to educate these Mayor Inner Child McMahon kool aid drinkers out there that just want to play dumb, or the ones that lack the knowledge of a good education by being screwed by the public school system.

In order for this to make sense we need to learn from history. Let’s start with our Founding Fathers when they designed the Constitution. The Constitution prohibits a foreign born individual to run for president. Why? Because our founders knew that outside influences from other countries would breed their own candidates in attempt to destroy the freedoms they fought for. They knew that Special Interest groups would attempt to control the government, and this was the first ever protection against special interest groups in our country. Without this The United States would never have existed today in my view.

Now take this example and compare it to the residency rule in the city charter. The rule is in place because the citizens of a township, city, etc. know what is best for their own communities. One of Reading’s biggest problems is that the city is run by so many outside influences from Jay Sundu from Sovereign Bank, among others. These people use Reading as a magnet for attracting pork on both the state and federal levels of government. The reason the citizens of Reading are so outraged with Mayor Inner Child McMahon is the fact that they know what direction is best for their community, and it is not the outside influences I just mentioned, or Mayor Inner Child catering to these people and in the process breaking the law by ignoring the Charter. Just as our Founding Fathers believed that native citizens know what is best for their country, so does the citizens of Reading in demanding local talent to be contributed to their community as stated in their charter. After all would you allow somebody from another state come into your town and tell you that they know best? I think I know the answer to that one.
