Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a fallen soldier in Iraq who reinvigorated the antiwar movement, was arrested and removed from the House gallery Tuesday night just before President Bush’s State of the Union address, a police spokeswoman said.
Sheehan, who had been invited to attend the speech by Rep. Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif., was charged with unlawful conduct, a misdemeanor, Capitol Police told NBC News. Sheehan was taken in handcuffs to police headquarters a few blocks away and her case was processed as Bush spoke.
Capitol Police Sgt. Kimberly Schneider said Sheehan had worn a T-shirt with an antiwar slogan to the speech and covered it up until she took her seat. Police warned her that such displays were not allowed, but she did not respond, the spokeswoman said.
The T-shirt bore the words “2,245 Dead — How Many More??” in reference to the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq, protesters told NBC News.
Police handcuffed Sheehan and removed her from the gallery before Bush arrived. Sheehan was to be released on her own recognizance, Schneider said.
“I’m proud that Cindy’s my guest tonight,” Woolsey said in an interview before the speech. “She has made a difference in the debate to bring our troops home from Iraq.”
Woolsey offered Sheehan a ticket to the speech — Gallery 5, seat 7, row A — earlier Tuesday while Sheehan was attending an “alternative state of the union” press conference by CODEPINK, a group pushing for an end to the Iraq war.
Sheehan was arrested in September with about 300 other anti-war activists in front of the White House after a weekend of protests against the war in Iraq. In August, she spent 26 days camped near Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas, where he was spending a working vacation.

I figured we need a little humor tonight, and I wanted to bring up some things that are very funny. First we have an extinct species. It turns out that the Editor at the Reading Eagle Al Walentis got snipped, and his sperm no longer exists. Click on the Picture for the blog of Al admitting this. Now Al just made Liberals more endangered then they already are.
Now in other news it turns out that Dante Santoni is not sure if he stands a chance at reelection in November, and he has already found a job just to be safe.
Now it seems that Dante got the hair down already.
Alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll Righhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhty Then!!!!!

Here is the latest e-mail I received from Jim Keller. Once again he is trying to shut down this site unless I remove all posts that are critical to him. Here is the latest e-mail.

As Jim Keller keeps going crazy, I will be here to expose the Leader of the Democrat Party of West Reading for what he really is. Remember if this was a Republican, Jim Keller would be out demanding that person step down. Typical Liberal way. Do as I say, not as I do.

I want to inform all the readers that I just filled out an online police form to the Muhlenberg Police Department reporting the constant harrassment of Jim Keller involving the latest threat that was made by him this afternoon. This site will not condone these types of actions. I founded this site a little over 8 months ago to bring in a fresh prespective that the Reading Eagle fails to do. I do admit that I, along with other posters have hit nerves on the Liberal side of things that have them in a massive rage over ideas, but that’s what debate is all about. If you go over to the Reading Eagle Blog section you will see that Conservatives are called Nazis, Reich-Babies, and so on. They do have the right to say what they want, just as we have a right to counter their claims. What they don’t have a right to do is threaten, harrass, or attempt to bring harm to people that don’t see things their way.
Now that this has been said, it is time to move on.

On one of his latest press releases, Governor “Fast Eddie” Rendell announced the creation of a new statewide minority, women owned, and disadvantaged business development post. This is going down the same path as New Jersey’s WBE program where they pay women, and minorities to open business, and continue to pay them weather they turn a profit, or crash. The only label I can place on what Fast Eddie is proposing is Oxy Moron.
This announcement will never do anything to solve business development in Pennsylvania, especially in Berks County. First of all the minorities that Rendell is targeting are mainly people on welfare that have no desire to work. Second this is nothing more, but mini goggle works type projects, but all over the state.
Since I brought up goggle works, allow me to explain in more detail. One example is that you got guys like Al Boscov, who is quite big in the local business community spending our tax dollars on his ventures, and hardly ever spending his own money. Now as all of you know, this is a prime example of why smaller business can never compete with an Al Boscov, because, our taxpayer dollars ensure Al Boscov unlimited financial resources to stomp on the small business owner, until he, or she runs out of business.
This idea of Rendell’s simply put is that, he will give the little guy money to start a business to compete with an Al Boscov, or other big business, while Fast Eddie will continue to give money to Al Boscov to ultimately stomp the small business owner yet again. In the process Rendell looks good in the eyes of the little guy making them believe that he did all he could to help them go after big business, when in reality screwing them over.
Bottom line is that we will never be competitive economically with ideas like this. Pure Capitalism is the key to this problem. It’s called Capitalism for a reason because, when business big, or small fall down, or somebody has a great idea to capitalize on those opportunities. Though I don’t always agree with him Stefan Kosikowski wrote a good piece a while back about the perversion of Capitalism. A prime example of this is government officials giving money to their friends to ensure they never fall, and prevent other people with better ideas capitalizing on their failure, and compete hence the term Capitalism. We will continue to expose these lame brain attempts to insult us.

We here at this web site officially endorse Mike Folmer for State Senate to replace David “Chip” Brightbill (a.k.a. Mr. Sellout). Mike Folmer is a class act that would be a great antidote to the poison that fuels the Pennsylvania State Senate. Mike Folmer is very active in his community in Lebanon, and I have come to hear about him while I was a resident of Womelsdorf over the past few years, and rest assured that Mike Folmer will not be a Sellout like the Incumbent David Brightbill. Mike Folmer has taken the Pat Tommey approach in limiting himself to two terms if elected, and vowed not to collect the $140.00 per day allowance, and will truly bring the government back to its people. The pay raise is not the only issue that David Brightbill sold us out on. Here is a list of things that David Brightbill sold us down the river for at the comfort of being a lap dog to Ed Rendell.
The Income tax hike. Mr. Brightbill swore that he would not vote for it after his reelection in 2002. Mr. Brightbill YOU SOLD US OUT !!!!!!!!!!!
Emissions Inspection Expands into Berks, and surrounding counties. Mr. Brightbill swore that this would not happen if he had anything to do with it, but yet he supported Rendell with open arms. Mr. Brightbill YOU SOLD US OUT !!!!!!!!!!!
The OPT tax going up from $10.00 to $52.00 in some areas. Mr. Brightbill YOU SOLD US OUT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The gasoline tax going up 4 cents per gallon when gas prices are completely out of control, and people are already hurting. Mr. Brightbill YOU SOLD US OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m sure the sellouts will continue with David Brightbill until he is voted out of office. Everybody at Berks County PA with a Right Hook encourage anyone that lives in David Brightbill’s district to vote for Mike Folmer. The Antidote to the PA Senate. For some of the readers that don’t know, there was a very interesting debate about a piece written by Ben Helbert relating to the skyline drive project, and welfare to work efforts. One of our regular posters Anonymous +1 brought to our attention a practice being conducted by local businesses that is counterproductive to our economy, and to the real intention of welfare. Though I don’t see everything the same way as Anonymous +1, I give him credit for having his heart in the right place on this issue, and doing the right thing in bringing this to light. Thank you Anonymous +1 for your contribution to this debate.
After this occurrence, I decided to write a letter to Congressman Holden expressing my concern on this issues, and to encourage him to do what he can to hold businesses accountable that practice in this scam that is counterproductive to the taxpayer. Here is the letter I wrote to Congressman Holden.
Dear Congressman Holden:
I’m writing to you today out of concern relating to abuses I have encountered involving the welfare system.
On my web site http://www.berksparighthook.blogspot.com, I recently held a debate involving welfare, and how it could be reformed for the better. An anonymous poster brought to my attention actions being done by welfare recipients, and local businesses that are completely counterproductive to the intended purpose of the welfare program.
What is occurring is a welfare recipient will go to a business, and not bothering to fill out an application for employment, but have the business sign the form to acknowledge that the welfare recipient made an effort to seek employment. To make matters worse, the business also signs another from, and dates it ahead a couple of weeks to acknowledge that the welfare recipient called, and followed through with the employment application. I have received feedback from people that I know that tried the same stunt to see if it worked to expose local businesses in this foul practice, and sadly these businesses not only signed the forms, but never requested them to fill out an application for employment.
With all of the debates about the Federal Deficit, and the recent budget, these types of actions are unacceptable. This is an issue without a doubt that should be brought up when welfare reform is revisited. These businesses that insert themselves to ensure welfare recipients that have no desire to work stay on welfare should be held accountable. I hope you share the same concern as the majority of Americans do on this issue. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Sincerely,
Matthew A. Heckman
I will keep you informed as this develops.
